Wanna know what crazy looks like!

So my darling boy as cute and amazing as he may be has not slept more than a 3 hour stretch at a time at night and it is driving my batty. I think I'm functioning alright, the house is pretty clean (most days), I keep up on my laundry, the kids are fed, the kids make all their extra-curricular activities and me and the hubby and I still have "maritals". The only reason I include the last is because for all of you mommas reading this you understand that having the "maritals" is a huge accomplishment in the first year after baby. Anyways Adrian sleeps upstairs,so when the I hear him in the monitor I do the zombie walk up 2 flights of stairs, pick him up go downstairs, nurse him back to sleep, sometimes he will go back in the crib but sometimes he stays in our bed. This has been the routine for the last couple months. Thursday was a particular lucid night for me and when I heard him start crying I was already awake. I go upstairs and find Adrian sound asleep.
I turned around and think well he must have put him self back to sleep. As soon as I lay down I hear his cry/whine again "eeeooowwww" I hold the monitor up to my ear and I don't hear anything but I still hear the cry. I turn to husband and say "holy crap I think we have a ghost". He gets out of bed searching for the sound, opens our walkout door to the porch from the bedroom and the sound is MUCH clearer now. HOLY CRAP its a cat in heat, so we clap it away and its quite. The same night Adrian miraculously sleeps till 5 in the morning (that never happens). The next Adrian slept all night. I cannot believe it I have been waking up my soundly sleeping child because in my sleep deprived state I cannot tell the difference between a cat in heat and my child crying. So I'm not sure how many nights I have been waking a sleeping child only to disrupt his sleep all night. I laugh now but  I kinda wanna kill that cat.

  3. OMG, you are not kidding. Cats do sound a lot like a babe crying...now that I think about it. Poor mama, up for nothing!
BTW, I loved that you thought you had a ghost...that's exactly what I would have said:)

  5. With a child not sleeping through the night I completely feel your pain. I would kill that cat. Mine happen to live in my house though...
